About the event

If you’ve got something to say, say it loud. Some of the most outlandish, dynamic, and loudmouthed comedians, musicians, and djs from across the country (and even Namibia) converge on Robsons Real Beer for a rip-roaring evening of music and comedy brought to you by Not Quite Right Comedy and The Music Imbizo as part of the Point Waterfront Arts Festival. On the comedy side, Durban’s hometown, uh, hero (citation need), Bob Perfect hosts the top-notch bill featuring Cape Town’s one-liner king, Yaaseen Barnes, Namibia’s funniest export, Maybe Its Waybeline, Durban’s charismatic comic, Tibs_Dumi, and the 031’s most hilarious newcomer, Kamaney. After laughter comes… beers… and then music (p-p-power). GeeSoul & The Rockstarz will be blessing us with their unique blend of tribal rock, geebop, funk, and psych straight out of Soweto. They’re joined by Kwazulu Natal’s purveyors of afropunk, rock ‘n roll, rhythm and poetry, Hawema. But wait, there’s more! Hated Related will also be taking to the stage with their Durban-tainted brand of 90’s emo/punk. 5FM’s Leah Jazz and Jacaranda FM’s Rob Forbes will be teaming up to bring destruction to the dancefloor with back-to-back selections of classic bangers, afrotech, weird mashups and nasty house. DJ Michael Cera will be closing out the evening with a delightful mix of indie, punk, emo, britpop, and alt-rock. Doors open at 18:30, show starts at 19:00.
